One Cold Night, One Incredible Result
Dear Clients, Family, Friends and Supporters,
Now that I’ve had a chance to warm up, dry out and catch up on some sleep, I wanted to sincerely thank everyone who supported my participation in the 2026 Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised a total of $22,828 to support the vital work of the St Vincent de Paul Society in assisting Australians experiencing homelessness. Not only did we exceed my original goal of $15,000, but together we contributed to an event that saw the South Australian CEO Sleepout community raise more than $800,000 for Vinnies.
For one night, hundreds of business and community leaders swapped comfortable beds for cardboard and sleeping bags at the Adelaide Zoo. While it was only a single night for us, it served as a powerful reminder that for many Australians, homelessness is a daily reality. Mother Nature certainly made sure the experience was authentic.
The overnight forecast delivered exactly what had been promised:
- Temperatures hovering around 10°C
- Frequent showers throughout the evening
- Fresh north-westerly winds
- Plenty of damp cardboard and very little slee
Thankfully, unlike many Australians facing homelessness, we all knew we would be returning home the following morning
I would also like to congratulate Andrew Sullivan, winner of our June wine draw, who takes home a bottle of 2012 Penfolds St Henri Shiraz
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared the campaign, encouraged others to support the cause, or simply followed along with the journey. Every contribution, regardless of size, helped make a meaningful difference.
The funds raised will help Vinnies continue providing emergency accommodation, food, clothing and support services to vulnerable individuals and families throughout South Australia.
